Internal Comms Network North

**Scroll down to book on to the next Internal Comms Network North event on 19 September 2019**

After winning Best Internal Communications Campaign at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ (CIPR) Yorkshire & Lincolnshire PRide Awards 2018 we identified a gap in the market for high growth SMEs and other organisations in the North of England to better understand and embrace the role of strategic internal communications in the digital age (read this blog on why internal comms isn’t just for very large organisations and what the 5 opportunities for SMEs are).

We work with high growth clients in sectors like construction, manufacturing, education, and financial services, to help them get to the next level by harnessing the power of internal communications for business transformation and improved organisational performance. Internal comms is usually something that isn’t formalised within SMEs and is either an ‘add-on’ to marketing/HR or sits with the Ops Director as part of the day-to-day running of the business. We want to bring together and support those who are responsible for internal comms in their organisations to share best practice and discover how to make it an integral part of their business growth strategies.

So, in May 2019, we launched the Internal Comms Network North with our first event on ‘aligning your internal and external brand communications’. The event was attended by almost 50 senior professionals including Heads of Marketing/HR/Comms, internal comms specialists, and Ops/Managing Directors from a range of sectors including legal, housing and transport. Attendee feedback was excellent and there is a definite appetite for future events which we plan to hold quarterly. There will also be other member benefits including useful email insights/updates, exclusive resources, and a LinkedIn group to discuss issues and ideas with fellow members.

Internal Comms Network North event September 2019: Breaking through the ‘growth ceiling’ by putting people at the heart of your business strategy

When? Thursday 19 September 2019 from 5.45pm

Where? Clarion Solicitors’ offices in Leeds city centre

What?

Our next event will be all about breaking through the ‘growth ceiling’ that many mid-sized ambitious organisations hit as a result of not laying the foundations of strategic internal communications. As successful businesses grow, they often sacrifice what it was that originally made them special and pay the price of going from a close-knit family culture to a disconnected workforce. This can cause a range of issues which stunt further growth potential and impact negatively on business performance. Communications is often the biggest business problem that organisations don’t know they have but investing in it can provide a huge return on investment and mitigate losses from not getting it right.

The panel session will give attendees the opportunity to learn from those who have overcome these challenges in an SME environment including hosts Clarion Solicitors whose branded offices designed to engage both the team and their clients in the firm’s purpose and values, will provide the perfect backdrop for the event.

Who should attend?

Senior leaders of high growth, ambitious, mid-sized organisations and marketing, comms and HR professionals working within them.

Why attend?

– Understand potential barriers to growth/organisational development and how to prevent rather than cure them with strategic, insight-based internal communications.

– Learn how to cost effectively have a significant long term measurable impact on your organisation’s success by putting people at the heart of your growth strategy.

– Take away practical steps for embracing strategic internal communications as a small but ambitious organisation.

– Discuss and debate key challenges and opportunities with your peers and industry experts.
