Back in August 2012, PR Week reported that Britain’s banks were shunning social media engagement in spite of the reputation crisis facing the sector. As 2013 approaches, the banking and finance sector is starting to wake up to the fact that the biggest risk presented by social media is not being part of the conversation!
We’re teaming up with Skipton and Keighley-based Solicitors AWB Charlesworth to hold a ‘banking on social media’ workshop for finance professionals. The audience will be made up of Independent Financial Advisers, Accountants and Bank Managers and, from initial findings from our pre-workshop survey, it looks like most of them intend on investing in social media in 2013. However, the understandably have concerns, particularly when it comes to confidentiality and reputation management.
The interactive workshop will use practical examples to show banking and finance professionals how they can build their own online personal brand within the regulatory framework of the organisation they work for and use it for client relations and business development. We’ll show them how quality engagement with relevant audiences can help them work smarter and not harder by using social media as a research and communications tool that is integrated into their every day work and overall business strategy.
And AWB Charlesworth’s experts will be on hand with advice about the legal issues and implications to bear in mind when utilising social media as an individual professional and as a business, within the context of the banking and finance sector.
There are a couple of places left at the breakfast workshop on 12th December in Skipton. If you are interested in coming along, email email@example.com. Or watch this space for a round up of what was discussed after the event.
