Engage Comms is an award-winning, Yorkshire-based content marketing agency. From a background in traditional PR, our experienced, digitally savvy team combines strategic thinking with research skills and creativity to deliver content that your audiences want to engage with, read/watch and share. We take a quality over quantity approach, focusing on long term outcomes, not ‘quick win’ outputs.

Our core team works with a trusted network of web developers, graphic designers, photographers and videographers to offer a fully integrated, hassle-free marketing communications service. We also work with an Associate crisis comms expert who we call upon to offer clients senior counsel in emergency situations.

Our home

Our office is in the lovely Yorkshire market town of Otley, smack bang in the middle of Leeds, Harrogate, Bradford and Skipton and easily accessible to clients across the North of England. We love exploring our local area to find new lunch spots and we even do a weekly team Pilates class at a nearby church hall. You can check out our office in the video on our homepage.

Meet our core team…

Jo Parker, Founding Director

Before setting up Engage Comms, Jo sat on the senior management team of one of the world’s largest international PR agencies, where she led strategic campaigns for clients from global brands to local law firms. Her passion is for property and she works closely with our construction and interior design clients.

Helen Gill, Founding Director

Helen is a multi-award-winning communications professional and experienced public speaker/lecturer/trainer who has worked in a variety of in-house and consultancy comms roles for SMEs and global organisations in the public and private sectors. She is passionate about the education sector and is chair of the committee of Oakworth Pre-school which she offers marketing, recruitment and fundraising support to. She is a foodie and music lover and is also our office ‘grammar geek’. She was the by-lined editor of the B2B chapter of the 2017 edition of leading text book 'Exploring Public Relations'.

Chloe Greenwood, Content Manager

Chloe had the grades to go to university but instead opted for a more vocational marketing and PR Apprenticeship. We met her at a networking event and were immediately impressed with her maturity, professionalism and work ethic. She’s now a key part of the Engage Comms team, delivering content-led campaigns. Chloe brings her love of the outdoors, dogs and food & drink to our Yorkshire lifestyle clients. She’s also our data, analytics and research pro! In 2016, she won the One4All #‎SpotlightAwards Employee of the Year in the Creative/Digital category.

Sally Rhodes, Associate - Crisis Comms

As a highly experienced PR professional with particular expertise in crisis and issues preparedness, management, and counsel, we draw on Sally’s expertise as an Associate when clients need it most. Although we do everything we can to effectively manage our clients’ reputations, Sally’s advice is sought when unavoidable crises do happen. She has experience of dealing with scenarios from a fatal factory explosion to public health risks, serious fraud investigations, industrial action, animal rights protests, and property/ store/ customer/ staff/ product related issues for a major retailer.

David Gatehouse, Senior Copywriter

David is a highly experienced PR, copywriter and content manager. He has worked for leading regional, national and international communications companies, while clients have ranged from micro-business to multinationals. A former journalist and broadcaster, who has also held in-house roles for the MOD and NHS, David has particular expertise in media relations, web content, crisis and issues, internal comms and copywriting. Recent years have seen him work on just about every written communications project - including scripts, film production notes and a CIPR-award winning book.
