Daisy Days is a boutique gift shop based on Haworth’s Main Street in the heart of Yorkshire’s Bronte Country. After previous issues with selling online and increased competition from other new gift shops on Main Street, owner Jill was struggling to attract new customers.
As one of only a handful of UK stockists of some unique designer brands, she knew that Daisy Days had the potential to attract website traffic from a wider audience and ensure that tourists chose it as part of their retail experience when visiting Haworth and tasked Engage Comms with increasing both online sales and footfall.
We built a low cost e-commerce website which we drive traffic to via high quality blog content on topics such as Valentine’s Day gift ideas and social media marketing tapping into brands’ existing fan bases and topics that local people/tourists are interested in.
Our biggest success to date is initiating a partnership with Yorkshire-headwear-designer-to-the-stars Rhian Kempadoo-Millar who has designed an exclusive range of Bronte-themed flat caps that are only available at Daisy Days in-store and online. We executed a launch campaign (including a professional photo shoot with the fantastic www.photographybykathryn.com) that tapped into buzz around the Bronte bicentenary and Haworth’s 1940s weekend and secured local, regional and national media coverage.
“With increased competition both online and on Haworth's Main Street, Daisy Days needed a boost. With a modest budget, Engage Comms helped me maximise my investment in a new e-commerce website that would enable us to sell online to a much wider audience and also showcase what we had to offer to locals and tourists more effectively. By tapping into the existing fan bases of brands we stock and forming exclusive partnerships, they’ve really helped to put us on the map. As a result, we’re busier than ever and selling more ‘big ticket’ items than we used to.”
