Engage Comms client Money Advice Liaison Group (MALG), the UK membership organisation with the aim of ‘working together to improve the lives of people in debt’, is set to host its Annual Conference in Leeds for the first time in 2024.

The MALG Conference, now in its 37th year, has previously been held in London before moving to Birmingham in 2022 and 2023. As an industry-leading event which attracts more than 200 delegates from across the whole of the UK’s credit and debt landscape, Aspire in Leeds has been chosen as the ideal venue for 2024. As home to many financial institutions and also debt charities, the Leeds city region is a hub for MALG’s target audience.

The conference will take place on 7 November with the main sessions taking place in Aspire’s 400-capacity Banking Hall, the exhibition and networking on the impressive mezzanine level, and breakout sessions in the first floor rooms of the centrally-located period building.

Bob Winnington, CEO of MALG, says:

“The MALG Conference has been going from strength to strength in recent years and the decision to move it outside of London in 2022 was well received by our members. However, due to popular demand in 2023, we were unable to accommodate all the exhibitors who were keen to showcase their products and services at the event and it was a tight squeeze for delegates at the Birmingham venue with a programme of engaging sessions around the topic of ‘The New Demographics of Debt’ pushing some rooms over capacity.

“Following fantastic feedback, we knew that 2023 was going to be a tough act to follow so we set about searching for the perfect location and venue straight away and we believe that we have found it in Aspire Leeds. We’ll be able to accommodate several more exhibitors and host larger break out sessions and, with it being just a couple of minutes walk from Leeds train station and in close reach of all the city’s amenities and accommodation, it’ll be even easier for delegates from up and down the country to access.”

Following the announcement of the venue and date, a number of exhibition stands and sponsorship packages have already been secured by the likes of Acquired.com, Angel Advance, CDER Group, Dukes Bailiffs, Experian, Gamcare, Lantern, Lester Aldridge, Policy in Practice and PRA Group. Delegate bookings will open soon. Find out more at www.malg.org.uk/conference and read testimonials/see the programme from the MALG Conference 2023 here.
