Welfare Together was founded in 2022 by Tracey Stone, drawing on her 25 years’ experience in local authority debt recovery and at all levels of the enforcement industry. Her vision was to fill a gap in the market for enhanced support for vulnerable residents that would improve people’s lives, strengthen community resilience and offer maximum commercial and social return on investment (SROI) to Registered Providers of social housing.

Our Approach

When Welfare Together approached Engage Comms in early 2026, the business had a powerful mission: providing specialist early‑engagement and vulnerability support for individuals in financial distress on behalf of local authorities, enforcement firms, housing providers, utility companies and other creditors. But its online presence and offline assets weren’t doing justice to the scale, sophistication or social value of its work.

The organisation needed a marketing communications strategy that reflected its credibility, supported B2B growth with hard-to-reach public sector target clients, and made it easier for vulnerable customers to seek help with dignity and confidence.

What we did

We worked closely with the Welfare Together team to understand the complexity of their service model, the sensitivity of their customer interactions, and the expectations of local authorities, enforcement firms and housing providers. From this, we developed a strategy, suite and materials and website that:

  • Articulates the organisation’s purpose with clarity and authority, showcasing its specialist expertise, proven outcomes and leadership in vulnerability‑first practice.
  • Creates a stronger platform for B2B engagement, with clearer service pathways, sector‑specific messaging and content designed to support business development conversations.
  • Streamlines communication for vulnerable customers, reducing friction and anxiety through accessible language, intuitive navigation and a more supportive user experience.
  • Builds a strategic presence on LinkedIn, positioning the brand and its directors as authoritative voices on vulnerability, early engagement and ethical practice, increasing visibility among hard‑to‑reach public‑sector audiences.
  • Implements targeted email marketing, using insight‑led content to nurture relationships with existing partners and open doors with prospective clients who are often time‑poor and difficult to reach through traditional channels.
  • Maximises investment in industry events and awards, amplifying involvement and key messages and getting the right content in front of the right people.
  • Reflects the professionalism and empathy at the heart of the brand, ensuring the tone, visuals and structure align with the organisation’s values and the lived experiences of the people it helps.

The impact

The new Welfare Together website and marketing communications strategy positions the organisation as a sector leader that is credible, compassionate and commercially robust. It gives prospective clients a clearer understanding of the value of early intervention, provides existing partners with a more intuitive way to engage, and offers vulnerable individuals a safer, more supportive digital experience.

A more strategic approach to LinkedIn and email outreach has strengthened Welfare Together’s visibility and influence, helping it reach the right decision‑makers and build stronger, longer‑term relationships across the public sector.

By elevating the brand and building a platform that supports both growth and social impact, Engage Comms has helped Welfare Together lay the foundations for further growth and success: scaling its influence, strengthening partnerships and improving outcomes for the people who need its support most.

We’re now working with Welfare Together on an ongoing basis to take this fantastic female-founded company in a complex sector with a niche offer to the next level.
