Having both worked in PR/comms in Yorkshire for around 10 years, Helen and I (Founding Directors of Engage Comms Ltd) have been regulars at the CIPR Yorkshire & Lincolnshire PRide Awards in the past. However, this was our first year attending the ceremony as Engage Comms (we launched in June 2012 after the entry deadline for that year had already passed) and we were shortlisted for both Business & Corporate Communications Campaign and Outstanding Small Consultancy!

CIPR PRide Awards 2013

It was great to catch up with some familiar faces and even better than we won silver awards in both our categories!!!

The CIPR PRide Awards recognise outstanding public relations and communications in the UK regions and nations and the judging of this year’s 10th anniversary has made them tougher than ever to win so we’re understandably incredibly chuffed!

Our entry for Outstanding Small Consultancy demonstrated how we’ve been innovative in our approach to setting up a new business that is fit for the future by bringing fundamental business communications principles into the digital age. We were also very proud of our Business & Corporate Communications Campaign entry which brought to life how we helped our longest-standing client Harry Fairclough Construction, get on to tender frameworks worth £90m and delivered return on investment that was “off the scale!”

Of the other winners we were particularly impressed with Leeds Metropolitan University’s Research with Impact campaign which scooped the gold in the Public Sector category.

We love being based in Yorkshire and think that last night’s winners all gave us something to be proud of as a region!

Special thanks also goes to Blacks Solicitors who sponsored the Best Use of Social Media category and sent Asad Ali and James Teagle along to accompany and support us on the night.
