Keighley Timber logo RevKeighley Timber is a family-run timber merchants based in West Yorkshire with years of experience in helping both trade and domestic customers complete their indoor and outdoor home improvement projects, supplying everything from treated timber, mouldings and doors, to decking, fencing and sheds, plus a range of extras.

With an out-dated BT website that only focused on highly competitive target keywords and little in the way of a marketing strategy, the company was relying on local word of mouth amongst trade customers. They wanted to attract more domestic customers, positioning themselves as a local, independent and ethical alternative to the big high street DIY chains.

We worked with the company’s father-son management team over 12 months to completely re-brand the business and create a highly visible and engaging online presence from scratch, which streamlined and increased sales, attracting new customers and significantly increasing per head spend and repeat business.

This involved the development of a new website which showcased the full range of products on offer and positioned the brand as credible, trustworthy and high quality. The Google My Business account was updated to reflect the new branding and more engaging, visual content and Google reviews were monitored and responded to. We created regular engaging, topical content, which was shared across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and engaged with local influencers and target customers online to build up a network of 800 loyal fans who the brand is now ‘front of mind’ with. We also built up a database of 300 high quality, relevant contacts from scratch to whom we sent occasional, useful e-newsletter content, which achieved a well above average open and click rate for the industry.

Website traffic dramatically increased as a result with overall sessions per month going from under 200 to over 2,000, users going from just over 100 to well over 1,000, and page views going from just over 700 to 7,700!

The new branding has also made a huge difference to driving footfall into the showroom with new signage making it look more appealing:
