What the placement will give you
The placement is an excellent opportunity for a student to lay the foundations for their future career by playing a pivotal role in the growth and success of a small, vibrant communications business. The role of Digital Communications Executive will be ‘hands-on’ and give you the opportunity to ‘get stuck in’ with a wide variety of like-minded clients in the construction, property, professional services, food & drink and health sectors. With direct access to the two company Directors on a day-to-day basis, you will be given invaluable insights and training with the chance to grow and develop with us over the long term.
You’ll be a respected and appreciated member of the team with a high level of responsibility, support and job satisfaction who is encouraged to have a good time in and outside of work.
What we will expect from you
As the Founders of Engage Comms Ltd, we love what we do and we love our clients – and we will expect you to bring the same level of passion to the business. You’ll need to have outstanding research, writing and digital skills which allow you to keep your finger on the pulse, proactively come up with new ideas, and proficiently produce high quality, highly visible online content. Everything we do is about quality of outcomes, not quantity of outputs so you’ll be expected to live and breathe our values with the appropriate level of professionalism, maturity, empathy and humour.
What we will be looking for from your application
If you wish to be considered for this role, please send your CV, five examples of your writing and a covering email telling us what you have to offer to Engage Comms in no more than 250 words to info@engagecomms.co.uk by 5pm on Thursday 1 May 2014. To be in with a chance of being invited for interview, you will need to do what we preach to our clients – demonstrate what you have to offer in a way that is memorable, engaging and gets across your personality.
Hint: words/phrases that make us go…
include ‘organised’, ‘enthusiastic’, ‘creative’, ‘excellent communications skills’ and ‘hard-working’.
It goes without saying for a comms role that your writing skills and your Twitter, LinkedIn and any other online profiles that are publicly visible, will be scrutinised as part of the recruitment process.
