Engage Comms has supported industry experts Natalie Douglass and Lee Parker in launching Luminos Insight; a new Leeds-based talent research consultancy set up to address the rapidly evolving recruitment and people challenges faced by employers in 2024.
The business draws on its founders’ extensive experience in the talent research world from pioneering growth in niche consultancies to establishing specialist departments within larger organisations. Together they bring a wealth of specialist knowledge to clients from multi-nationals to SMEs, with a shared vision of transforming the way organisations approach their workforce planning, talent attraction, retention and recruitment strategies.
Natalie Douglass, co-founder and director, expressed her excitement about the launch, saying:
“Talent research isn’t new as a cost-effective, strategic alternative to traditional recruitment but there is still a lot of misunderstanding and lack of awareness around the benefits of this approach. We spotted a gap in the market for a simplified, more economic and transparent offer that brings clarity to the research-led process and enables employers of all types and sizes to reap the benefits of it.
“Making effective business decisions is all about being armed with the necessary insight and when it comes to people strategies this shouldn’t be any different. Our talent research offer is completely outcomes focused. Rather than looking to fill a role for a quick commission, we help find the right people, who are the best fit for the organisation, over the long-term.”
Luminos launches at a transformative time for the recruitment market and when hiring conditions are expected to remain challenging. The post-pandemic labour market has been permanently altered, but at the start of 2024, flexible and hybrid working is in a state of flux as major employers recall teams back to the office. The ability to attract and support individuals from diverse backgrounds is essential and remains a central focus for employers and engaging passive candidates is more important than ever for bringing top talent into the funnel. AI is transforming recruitment processes and strong employer branding remains vital for attraction and retention. Skills-based hiring is also on the rise as organisations are thinking differently about recruiting a broader, more diverse range of talent, cost effectively.
Lee Parker, co-founder and director, explains: “There’s a lot for employers to consider in 2024 and talent research should be seen as a business-critical cost-saving exercise, not an expensive ‘nice to have’. With recruitment and retention of talent at the top of the agenda for most boards, there’s never been a better time to invest in our tried and tested approach.
“Our journey has been shaped by years of experience in the industry, and Luminos is the culmination of our collective vision. We are confident that our transparent, cost-effective, and bespoke offer will drive and support sustainable growth for our clients.”
As Luminos takes its first steps into the market, the company looks forward to partnering with organisations large and small eager to embrace a new era of recruitment, retention and workforce planning.
